Josh's Eagle Project

Josh is a really amazing kid, at age 13, he has reached the end of the road towards his Eagle. He decided on an Eagle Project, met with a contact person, researched and orgainzed, then completed it in two weeks time. He worked hard to talk up the youth in our ward to come and help and had a great turnout for an early morning in the middle of the week during summer. We were so proud of him. Here are a few pictures of the process. His eagle project was traveling up American Fork Canyon to Cascade Springs. A fresh water spring and pond area that attracts a lot of tourists during the year. The ponds were over grown with watercress and vegetation, which wasn't good for the fish and wildlife that use the springs. Not to mention unsightly for the tourists. :) So armed with a group of 20 people we set off for 5 and a half hours and made a big difference there. Way to Go Josh!!

The Old Man and the Toothpick

It's a new fable, have you heard of it? It happened like this: Josh wanted to prove his strength and brawn and decided to get into it with his father. The best way to bring out the wrestler in Kelly is to call him an "old man". So Josh(still trying to understand how choices and consequnces work), spoke the dreaded name. Kelly froze in his tracks, and usually above the petty name calling, (who am I kidding?) said, "bring it on toothpick!" And off they went. It was over quickly, and the old man was victorous. There are so many days when I think I have five children! Ask Kelly sometime, how this method works with Ryan, who is affectionally called "The Tank!"

Cassidy Birthday

Cassidy had a birthday earlier this month. She is now officially 10! It doesn't help that she already acts like a teenager. But I love having a girly girl who gets excited about clothes, shoes, and shopping!! Happy Birthday Cass, We love you!

Timpanogas Cave

The kids and I hiked to Timp Cave a few days ago. Well, the kids hiked, my dragging halting, "are we there yet?" steps couldn't really be classified as hiking (I am a person who considers running across the room and digging into the depths of the couch for a ringing telephone, a good workout! ) We all made it in one piece and had a great time. We went with my sisters and their families.

Welcome!

We are trying to jump into the blogging age and set up our own family blog. I have read so many informative, creative blogs that I thought I'd try my hand at one for our family. I hope you will all have patience with me.
